Overview

About Place: Imagine Trekking around the beautifully landscaped location overlooking dazzling hillocks and milky waterfalls. Yes, Meesapulimala trek is a beholder's delight to treat the eyes witha wide variety of all high altitude garden plants flowers and ancient structures. The trek through the beauty of grasslands of Munnar will not only amaze you with its flawless views, but also gives you a taste of hiking above the clouds. The place was once the favored summer resort for the erstwhile British rulers in the colonial days. Meesapuli range is famous for its tea plantations, spices, mountains and exotic species of Flora and Fauna.

We also get a chance to visit Kolukkumalai Hills, which is the highest place for tea plantation in the world at an altitude close to 8,000 feet , the place is still not known in the tourism circuit. However, several foreign tourists do come here. Some nature lovers within the state also frequently visit Kurangani Hills. Film-makers too have been charmed by the nature here.

Frequently changing weather, low-hanging clouds, chilly atmosphere and strong winds coupled with wide range of flora and fauna are the things to enjoy in the hills. It takes more than a day to complete the trekking from Kurangani village to Meesapulimala which is the reason why we camp near the tea estate and resume the trek next day.Trekkers often spot Indian guars, barking deer, langurs, wild cats and sometimes the presence of leopards and tigers.
Meesapuli Peak offers a panoramic view of the majestic Munnar range.

Note: Toughest trek, Reigster ONLY if you are physically fit and mentally tough.
